Tooth Contact Lab

Collision maps, scan registration and movement staging on tooth meshes, running in your browser with three.js and a BVH.

Move the right tooth against the left one. Every vertex gets its signed distance to the other surface: red is overlap, amber is contact (under 0.1 mm), blue is the near zone.

A simulated intraoral scan of the left tooth (crown only, with 30 µm noise) starts at a random pose. Two point-to-point ICP steps (Horn's closed form) bring it close, then point-to-plane steps lock it onto the reference surface, usually in under ten iterations.

The right tooth starts 5 mm lingual and rotated 30°. Each aligner stage may move it at most 0.25 mm and 2°, and every stage is checked against the neighbour. The dashed outline is the target.
